ICT and Business

Bentley Park College offers comprehensive digital learning opportunities for students from Prep right through to Year 12.

Years Prep to 2 - XO

All students are given access to a XO computer which contains software that will support the individual student’s literacy and numeracy skills as well as give access to online learning programs for these areas.

Years 3 to 8 - The Tech Express Program

The natural progression from our XO Program for students in Years 3 to 6 is the Tech Express one-to-one laptop program.  Students use their own laptops both at school and at home to increase the depth of their learning.

Years 7 to 9 - eLearn Program

Bentley Park is currently running one eLearn class in each year level from Years 7 to 9. The eLearn program is for students who are high achievers and who want to benefit from having access to their learning material no matter where they are. Computers are used extensively in the eLearn program to supports and extend the students’ learning.

Years 7 to 12

Information Communication Technology (ICT) becomes more specialised in Years 7 and 8 where IPT (programming strand) and MME (multimedia strand) are offered as elective subjects. The students are taught to become skilful users or Microsoft Office as well as learning different aspects of multimedia and computer game design.

ICT and Business feature among the elective subjects from Year 9 onwards, giving our students the opportunity to tailor an education leading them to a future career in computing and/or business.

The ICT department promotes the study of Multimedia, Programming and Technical ICT as well as Business studies using Information and Communication Technologies as the tool which empowers students to participate in both the Australian and global community.

Bentley Park College has been recognised as a Cisco Learning Academy and offer Cisco IT essential as a Year 10 subject. This will potentially lead to offering Cisco CCNA for students in Years 11 and 12 taking them to a well-paid career as computer network technicians.
Bentley Park College is also a Microsoft Academy (MSO). This means that we can offer our students opportunities for becoming certified in the use of Microsoft software including Microsoft Office. Students from as early as Year 7 have demonstrated their skill by passing the highly regarded MOS exams.

We are proud to offer our students the opportunity to excel in the multimedia industry by completing a Certificate IV in Screen and Media, which is on the course list for Years 11 and 12.
