Dear Parents and Carers
Further to my previous communication regarding the planned industrial action by members of the Queensland Teachers' Union (QTU) on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, I am writing to confirm the arrangements for the day.
As previously advised, the school will remain open during this time, however normal classes are likely to be disrupted. The following arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and supervision of all students:
- I want to reassure you that while there will be a reduced number of school staff onsite during this day of industrial action, arrangements have been made to ensure students are supported.
- Exams will not be scheduled to occur on this day.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Yours sincerely

Dear Parents and Carers
I wish to inform you that members of the Queensland Teachers' Union (QTU) at Bentley Park College have advised the Department of Education of their intention to participate in a 24-hour stop work action on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
As a result, some teachers will not be attending school on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 as part of a statewide strike related to ongoing Teachers' enterprise bargaining negotiations between the Department and the QTU.
At this stage, it is unclear how many teachers from Bentley Park College will be participating in this industrial action. However, I want to reassure you that the school will remain open during this time, and we are currently working to finalise arrangements to ensure students are supported.
We will communicate with you again as soon as possible to confirm the arrangements for the day of the industrial action.
The safety and wellbeing of students remain our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work through this matter.
Yours sincerely

Dear Parents and Carers
As you may be aware, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a recall notice regarding coloured sand products.
I want to reassure you that we treat the safety and welfare of your children, our students, and our staff as our highest priority.
We are aware of this issue and are working with the department and relevant agencies.
The ACCC reports that the safety risk is low and schools, including ours, will continue to communicate with families and staff with any updates as they become available.
Thank you for your continuing support of Bentley Park College.
Yours sincerely

Dear Parents and Carers
Social Media and the School Community
At Bentley Park College we take our responsibility to maintain the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously. This responsibility includes issues related to online choices and behaviours.
Participating in the online environment can be a positive experience, but there are also a broad range of concerns that may need to be considered, including online privacy and information protection, online etiquette, digital citizenship and knowing how to get help to deal with online issues.
As you may be aware, comments posted online about people and organisations may impact permanently on their digital reputation. This includes teachers, other staff, students and the school. There can be very real negative consequences from online posts – relationships between school staff, students and parents can be permanently damaged.
Facebook and other social networking sites are generally not private communities and, depending on an individual's privacy and security settings, comments may be read by many people and remain online indefinitely.
If you or your child are posting information online about the school, staff or students, I ask that you consider the ramifications of these comments on the school and any individuals in the school community. As a rule of thumb:
· Public discussion is most effective when it is conducted in a polite and respectful manner.
· Before posting, it is important to consider whether those people you are posting about want information, including photos and comments regarding them and their children, posted on Facebook or on other sites. Perhaps ask the people involved in the post for permission before you publish something or tag someone online.
· Rather than airing complaints or grievances in a public forum like Facebook, come and talk to the school first about how to resolve your concerns.
· Remember that as a parent/carer you have a responsibility to supervise and regulate your own children's online activities at home and their impact on the reputation and privacy of others.
