Chris Wright - Olympic swimmer, swim coach and architect

​​Chris Wright was the 2005 Bentley Park College Senior Sportsperson of the Year and after graduating he moved to Brisbane and then the Gold Coast to pursue his love of competitive swimming. Chris went on to compete for Australia at the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2010 Delhi and 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and four World Championships. 

In 2009 Chris broke the Australian record for the men's short course 200m Butterfly, which he still holds to this day. 

Since retiring from competitive swimming, Chris has gone on to coach multiple age group national gold medallists and has worked with current Olympic medallists and national team members.

Whilst still swimming competitively, Chris also graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Griffith University.

Chris is married to fellow Olympic swim team member Melanie Schlanger, now Dr Melanie Wright, and the couple have two beautiful children together.
