Senior Secondary Certificate
In Queensland, Senior Secondary students work towards the attainment of either the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA). More information is available on the Department of Education website.
Senior Secondary Assessment and Tertiary Entrance Systems
A new Senior assessment system (known as the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system) and a new tertiary entrance system commenced in 2019 for Queensland students who entered Year 11. More information is available on the
Department of Education website.
The new systems comprise:
- a new Senior assessment model that combines school-based assessment with external assessment together with new processes to strengthen the quality and comparability of school-based assessment
- the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)—the replacement of the Overall Position (OP) tertiary rank.

Year 11 and Year 12 Assessment Policy
The Bentley Park College Year 11 and Year 12 Assessment Policy (PDF 1.61MB) details the expectations for assessment completion, submission procedures and consequences for non-compliance in order to ensure that:
- there is clarity around the expectations of teachers and students
- there is integrity in the assessment that contributes towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
- there is consistency in assessment procedures in all subject areas across Years 11 to 12
- all students are treated equitably.
Year 11 and Year 12 Enrolment Policy
Bentley Park College staff, students and parents/carers must work in partnership to ensure students achieve to their potential and attain a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) at the end of Year 12. The Year 11 and 12 Enrolment Policy (PDF 629KB) outlines the commitments students, parents/carers and the College must make to achieve this goal.
