Academic Gold
Students from Years 5 to 12 who have achieved a grade point average of 4.5 or better, meaning they have achieved in the 'A' range for at least 50% of their subjects overall for the year.
Academic Silver
Students from Years 5 to 12 who have achieved a grade point average of 4.0 or better, meaning they are a 'B' average across all subjects studied for the year.
Top of Subject
- Junior Secondary: the top student in each subject in each year level achieving an 'A'.
- Senior Secondary: the top student in each subject in each year level achieving a 'B' or above.
Academic Special Awards
Dux – sponsored by the Lions Club of Edmonton
- Primary Dux: the overall highest achiever in Year 6.
- College Dux: the overall highest achiever in Year 12 (awarded early in the following year).

A Year 12 student who has shown outstanding effort, improvement in work ethic and persistence in their studies.
The JCU Shield for Year 12, 11, 10 & 9
In Years 9 and 10, Shields are awarded to the student who has achieved the highest results across English, Maths and Science. In Year 11 and 12, Shields are awarded to the student who has achieved the highest results across their General subjects contributing to an ATAR, based on Units one and two for Year 11 and Unit three for Year 12.
JCU Rising Star Scholarship
Presented to a Year 12 student who has selected or will select a JCU eligible course as their first preference through QTAC, and has demonstrated consistently high levels of academic achievement and personal attributes that uphold and champion the College's ethos, and a commitment to regional Australia.
Vocational Special Awards
Recognising students in Senior Secondary who have shown high aptitude, application and dedication in areas of Vocational Education.
