Talented Rugby League player and coach Nathan Wales studied Sport and Exercise Science at JCU Cairns and followed up his degree with a Graduate Diploma in Education after graduation from Bentley Park College in 2009.
In 2014 Nathan returned to the College as a Secondary HPE teacher, also spending time travelling overseas and playing Rugby League for White Plains in New York. A former Northern Pride player, Nathan was the Rugby League Academy Coordinator at the College from 2018 to 2019. 'While working as a teacher I got to live the dream of working with footy and good people every day,' Nathan said.
Nathan's ambitious nature led him to pursue a new career in the Police force in 2020. He still has a love of teaching though and has kept his registration current, and you will still see him occasionally doing relief teaching at Bentley Park College and other local high schools on his days off.
